Big 3: Give it up for Nellie’s

1. Give it up for Nellie’s

For over 40 years, Nellie’s has been providing shelter to women abuse victims and their families. Unfortunately, it’s still going strong – it has to. The Femme Fatale Series: Ménage À Plus Trois, an all-female showcase of performers including Albeit, VEINS and Kaleidoscope Horse, benefits the organization, at the Central. Tuesday (June 23), 7 to 9 pm. $5 or pwyc. 603 Markham. facebook.com/events/

2. BUILDING PRIDE

Habitat for Humanity has done wonders building homes for families in need. This time LGBTQ communities are invited to help with the org’s latest project at 960 Brimley in Scarborough on Friday and Saturday (June 19 and 20). No gear is required, but you’ll have to get up early to register at 7:30 am. $25. habitatgta.ca/pridebuild.

3. PREPPING FOR Pan am

The folks behind First Story Toronto are prepping the masses for the Pan Am sports showcase with a lesson in indigenous history along the route of the Pan Am Path. It’s a great way to get connected and into to the Games’ spirit of inclusion. Bike, bus and walking tours take place from Saturday (June 20) to June 25. Go to panampath.org for details.
