It’s unknown if a roller coaster at Canada’s Wonderland will be back in action this coming weekend after riders were stuck upside down for nearly 30 minutes on the ride.
@jiashira_ After about 45 mins they were able to get everyone down safety 🫠😮💨 I’m definitely not getting on this ride any time soon! #canadaswonderland #canada #toronto #amusementpark #ridegetsstuck #scary #wtf #viral #fyp ♬ original sound – Shira 🦂
Canada’s Wonderland spokesperson Grace Peacock says at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Saturday the Lumberjack ride became inverted with guests on board.
The guests remained up in the air as the park’s maintenance team worked to resolve the situation and eventually bring the ride back to the ground by 11:05 p.m.
Afterwards, guests were unloaded and assessed by First Aid staff.
“Two guests reported chest pain and were attended to at the park’s health centre before being released without need for further medical attention. The safety of our guests is always our first priority,” Peacock said in a statement.
In a TikTok video posted by user @jiashira_, maintenance workers can be seen attending to the upside down ride as a crowd of onlookers formed.
The ride remained closed on Sunday and it is unclear whether it will re-open this coming weekend. The amusement park is only open from Fridays to Sundays for the fall season.
Back in 2021, a similar incident occurred on the same Lumberjack ride at Wonderland. A TikTok video by @happyvibesca shows people stuck upside down.
The TikTok user says two maintenance workers fixed the issue quickly and the ride continued after five minutes.
