Breakfast Television viewers are shocked to see that hosts Meredith Shaw and Sid Seixeiro have been let go from the popular morning show.
Monday morning, host Devo Brown announced the news on-air saying, “We wish them the very best with what comes next.”
The pair hosted the show together since 2023, after Shaw joined to replace long-time host Dina Pugliese.

God bless. We’ll talk soon.
In a statement to Now Toronto, Rogers, the parent company of Citytv, says it parted ways with the hosts as part of new plans for the network.
“We’re invested in Breakfast Television’s success and leadership in Canadian morning television, and we’ll announce exciting new plans in the coming weeks. As part of this evolution, we have parted ways with Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw. We thank them for sharing their passion and energy with audiences every morning and wish them both the very best,” a Rogers Sports & Media spokesperson said.
The decision to let go of Shaw and Seixeiro comes after Rogers announced last month it was scrapping its plans for Tracy Moore and Cheryl Hickey’s lifestyle show.
The show, “BT with Tracy and Cheryl,” was supposed to air last fall, but Citytv “decided not to move forward with the development of a new national hour of Breakfast Television,” Rogers said in a statement to Now Toronto.

“Why were you fired. I don’t get it,” another X user said.
“Tim and Sid comeback??” another X user said, questioning if Seixero will return to his Sportsnet show “Tim & Sid,” that he co-hosted with Tim Micallef.
Meanwhile, under Shaw’s Instagram post, many fans are also shocked by the decision.
“This industry is giving all of us whiplash. Regardless, well done to you Mere. An incredible run, a good time and a beautiful addition to a career that keeps on building,” Tracy Moore commented.
“What?!? Why?!? You guys put on an amazing show. I think BT owes it to the views to be transparent and honest. We, the viewers deserve the truth!! Tell us why please,” another said.
“We need answers!!!! You and Sid are the reason I started watching BT!!! Such a comfort to watch you guys every morning while I was on maternity leave!!,” another user added.
