Torontonians are already flooding downtown streets ahead of Drake’s highly anticipated ninth studio album, Iceman.
Just weeks after fans crowded around a mysterious ice structure near Eaton Centre tied to the album rollout, the Toronto rapper appears to be turning the city into parts of the spectacle again.
Fans have now gathered around the CN Tower following Drake’s ICEMAN EPISODE 4 livestream, which appears to show the rapper on the landmark’s observation deck.
Earlier Thursday evening, the City of Toronto confirmed it approved a 10-minute fireworks display near Harbourfront Centre tied to “a private video shoot.” The City warned nearby residents to “keep pets indoors and notify anyone who may be sensitive to noise or light.”
Fans of the “6ix God” both in Toronto and around the world were in detective mode, with many speculating the fireworks could somehow be tied to the Iceman rollout.
Fans across social media have been reacting in real time as anticipation builds ahead of the album drop.
Other social media users praised Drake fans, with one person commenting, “The dedication is wild. Fans [are] already out in the streets before the album even drops. What’s it like down there?”
Another commenter loved how focused Toronto Drake fans are, writing, “The energy and crowd size show how much the city is locked in. Real influence. Love seeing the 6 come alive like this! #OVO #ICEMAN”
Iceman is scheduled to be released Thursday night at 12 a.m. ET.
