There’s only one way for a sports legend to go out and that’s with a win.

And Canadian soccer icon Christine Sinclair did just that when she played her last career game in Vancouver, B.C. against Australia, winning 1-0.

The B.C resident, who started playing soccer at the age of four because her brother played and she wanted to do everything he did, is now the most successful soccer player to ever compete for Canada.

She has since accumulated approximately 190 international goals, making her the highest scoring player, man or woman, in the world.

She has also represented Canada over 300 times and played 27,601 minutes for her country.

Sinclair’s send off was as emotional as when she was welcomed to the field for the last time. She was loudly and proudly embraced by family, friends and fans.

“I think all of Canada was crying at the same time!,” one X user wrote.

“Definitely tears! Such an incredible player and leader! Glad she got the last game in her hometown,” another said.
