Olympian Tessa Virtue and Maple Leafs’ Morgan Rielly announce pregnancy in babymoon post

Olympic figure skater Tessa Virtue and Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly discreetly announced they’re expecting their first child in a holiday post on Tuesday.

Virtue (35) shared a delightful series of seven photos on her Instagram, capturing serene moments from what many are dubbing their “BABYMOON” on social media.

The London, Ont.-native  posted images of her and Rielly (30), nestled poolside enjoying  tropical views. In the second and seventh photos, she showed off her baby bump in chic black beachwear.

However, the couple, who revealed they got married earlier this year, chose not to spill specific details about the pregnancy or the anticipated arrival date of their bundle of joy.

Virtue’s post swiftly amassed thousands of supportive comments, with one Instagram user playfully speculating, “Future first overall draft pick in the NHL or PWHL.”

Another commenter joyfully exclaimed, “Yay! Congratulations, you two! 💕 Wouldn’t be surprised if the little bean came out already wearing skates lol.”

One individual described it as a “shocking swipe to get while sitting at Timmies” and extended heartfelt congratulations to the couple.

Canadian soccer player Allysha Chapman, who announced her own pregnancy in October of last year in an Instagram post, cheered on Virtue, expressing, “What a beautiful little bump you’ve got 😍 Congrats.”

Numerous figures from the ice skating community extended their congratulations, including Czech ice dancer Filip Taschler, Canadian figure skater Kirsten Moore-Towers, and Japanese figure skater and Olympic coach Yuka Sato.

There’s been an outpouring of joy witnessing Virtue’s radiant pregnancy glow, with many admirers exclaiming, “TESSA VIRTUE IS LITERALLY MOTHERING.” Even Canadian swimmer and Olympian Penny Oleksiak joined in, commenting, “GIRL!! Stunning mama 💗.”

Virtue is not the sole recipient of the overwhelming support; her husband is also being hailed as a supportive partner, with one user tweeting, “The most awesome news! Mo looking like the perfect supportive hubby.”

Joining the chorus of well-wishers was Steph Marner, the wife of Leafs’ player Mitch Marner, sending her love to the couple.
