People were stuck on multiple rides at Canada’s Wonderland this weekend, and they are sharing their experiences on social media.

A TikTok user and their friend visited the amusement park this past Saturday and shared a video of people stuck on The Bat.

In the video, Canada’s Wonderland employees can be seen climbing up the stairs of the roller coaster to deal with the situation with tools in their hands.

Confirming the incident in a statement, a spokesperson from Canada’s Wonderland told Now Toronto, “The Bat roller coaster stopped on its lift hill with guests onboard” at approximately 2:40 p.m.

“The park’s maintenance team responded quickly and the ride was brought back into the station and guests unloaded safely by 3:05 p.m.,” the statement reads.

Commenters on the video highlighted that The Bat is notorious for such issues, with one person noting, “The coaster has been having these same issues since I was a kid.”

Another added, “Got stuck on The Bat years ago… still traumatized 😂.”

One person in the video mentioned they were sitting “in the front cart” with their family and received “2 fast pass tickets” from Canada’s Wonderland as compensation.

However, the malfunctions were not limited to The Bat. Several people shared their experience of being stuck on other rides at the park during the weekend.

One TikTok user mentioned getting stuck on the Riptide ride on Saturday, while another recounted being stranded on the WindSeeker for over 15 minutes.

Canada’s Wonderland also confirmed both the rides stopped with people onboard on Saturday, “Windseeker for approximately 15 minutes at 4:20 p.m. and Riptide for less than 10 minutes at 7:20 p.m.”

The spokesperson said everyone on the rides safely exited them, and no injuries were reported.

According to a statement from Canada’s Wonderland regarding ride safety, the rides may occasionally stop on the way up or mid-way as a safety feature. “The ride is not malfunctioning, but rather, doing what it is supposed to do: keep guests safe,” the statement reads.

While “The Bat and Riptide are open and operating normally,” the Windseeker is closed for maintenance, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, another person commented on the video saying they were stuck on the Chopper. “On Saturday I’ve seen people stuck at the top of a game called something like Chopper 🪓🪓.. they’re head(s) were down for 10 minutes… fortunately I was still in the line.”

As if that was not enough, another person shared their experience being stuck on the Behemoth the same weekend.

And another visitor shared that they visited the amusement park recently and were stuck on the Mighty Canadian Minebuster.

The shared experiences on social media have brought attention to the frequent malfunctions, with many reminiscing about their own past experiences at Canada’s Wonderland.

Meanwhile, some people commented that the amusement park’s “best days are behind it,” and they are “too scared to go” and would rather go to “Six Flags.”
