Toronto’s snowbirds will have another exciting sunny destination to escape to this winter with Porter Airlines’ new direct flights to Jamaica.
In a recent press release, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Edmund Bartlett, announced new nonstop flights from Toronto (YYZ), Hamilton (YHM), and Ottawa (YOW) to Montego Bay.
“This new airlift from Porter Airlines is a powerful affirmation of Jamaica’s standing as Canada’s premier winter sun destination,” Bartlett said in the release, adding that this opens the island to an even wider circle of Canadian visitors.
“We have worked deliberately to grow our Canadian airlift, and Porter’s expansion is a direct result of that effort. Jamaica is open, vibrant and ready to welcome every traveller who steps off these new flights.”
Porter Airlines will start operating flights to Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport starting this November. Toronto’s Pearson International Airport will offer up to five flights a week starting on Nov. 23, 2026. Meanwhile, Ottawa will begin offering two flights a week starting on Nov 25, 2026, and Hamilton will also be offering two flights a week starting Dec. 20, 2026.
Angella Bennett, the Regional Director for Canada’s Jamaica Tourist Board, also said in the release, “We will be working with Porter and our trade partners across Canada to ensure these seats fill quickly and that every passenger arrives in Jamaica ready to experience everything the island has to offer.”
Porter Airlines will be the only airline offering direct flights from Hamilton and Montego Bay.
These new routes are part of the airline’s growing efforts to expand its network of warm-weather destinations by more than 150 per cent year-over-year. Aside from Montego Bay, Porter has expanded to Aruba, San José in Costa Rica, and Los Cabos.
