Animals in Toronto seem to be making a habit of showing up at McDonald’s for a snack.
Two mounted police officers were spotted riding their horses through a McDonald’s drive thru the same day a video of a racoon was shared galavanting around a McDonald’s in Scarborough.
Torontonians are no strangers to the mounted police, nor racoons, but seeing them in line at the drive thru or scurrying at your feet while eating a happy meal, certainly isn’t an everyday occurrence.
Facebook user Brent Bennison shared a photo of two officers on horseback making their order at the Bathurst and Dundas streets drive-thru, according to BlogTO.
Similarly, TikTok user @krinousec posted a now viral video of a mischievous raccoon scavenging around a Mcdonald’s as customers watched on.

The person filming the video can be heard talking to the raccoon rummaging under his table, “hi, what are you doing here…you like my shoes?” they ask.
At one point, another customer yells, “get him a burger right now,” before an employee comes into shot and calmly shoos the animal away with a broom.

Commenters on the video were comparing the incident to the now infamous IKEA monkey video that broke the internet ten years ago, and older viral footage of a man holding a raccoon in an Ottawa McDonald’s while a brawl broke out.
Others were simply shocked at how calm everyone in the restaurant was.
“People just sit there ? that could have rabies,” one TikTok user wrote.
“This is Toronto culture,” another person said.
The comment section wasn’t short of jokes either.
“Leave him alone guys he came to pick his mobile order,” one person said.
“He is like I’m just passing by…don’t mind me,’ another person wrote.
It’s a good thing nobody handed the little guy a burger because it’s against the law to feed wildlife, according to Toronto animal bylaws.
