Toronto Blue Jays fans have mixed thoughts about the roof of the Rogers Centre being open for Game 1 of the American League Division series against the New York Yankees.

The Toronto Blue Jays kick off their 2025 postseason against the Yankees Saturday afternoon. Today’s game marks the first-ever playoff meeting between the two American League East rivals.

On Saturday morning, the Jays released its 26-man roster for their best-of-five AL Division Series against New York, including 13 pitchers and 13 position players. Star shortstop Bo Bichette, pitcher Chris Bassitt and pitcher Max Scherzer are not included in the list. Back in September, Bichette left the regular season with a knee injury, while Bassitt has also been injured since September and Scherzer struggled with performance last month.

However, online, baseball fans have mixed feels about the dome being open for the big game.

“Should be closed we need the atmosphere to be as loud as possible even former players have said it,” one person on X said.

“Noooo. There’s always a better vibe when its closed,” another said.

“To all the people complaining, geez I don’t know maybe because it’s 75° today? And it’s such a beautiful day outside,” another stated.

“Good choice, feel like indoor ruins the feel of playoff baseball,” one user chimed in.
