The moment was captured by Now Toronto as fans watched a live screening of the event’s first opening ceremony in Mexico being broadcast at the FIFA Fan Festival in Toronto.
As the three host countries’ flags were introduced, attendees in Toronto, appeared to clap and cheer on the Canadian and Mexican teams, but largely booed the USA Team.
The Opening Ceremony took place right before the first official World Cup game kicked off, with Mexico facing South Africa at the stadium.
Canada’s first match will take place on Friday, with Team Canada facing Bosnia-Herzegovina in the World Cup opener.
