Mall shoppers were in for a real treat when Mr. Willy Wonka himself made an appearance in Toronto on Wednesday.
Timothée Chalamet touched down in the city and made his whereabouts known after taking to Instagram and telling fans he would be at Yorkdale mall to check out its Immersive World of Wonka.
He also surprised fans at a screening of his new film, Wonka, and attended the movies Canadian premiere.
To say fans were excited would be an understatement. One video shows absolute chaos at the sight of the actor as he moved through the mall’s Cineplex.
Chalamet also took the time to snap some photos with fans and he was all smiles throughout.
The New York Times reviewed the film and said it embraces “niceness with unforced sincerity as it invites you to let your imagination run loose.”
However, the news outlet said the movie is “overly busy, as these kinds of eager-to-please diversions tend to be, and at two hours it overstays its welcome.”
Wonka hits theaters across Canada on Friday, Dec. 15.
And Wonka’s Sweet Escape is available until Jan. 2 at Yorkdale Mall.
