Toronto Hydro says it is currently responding to a power outage that has been affecting Liberty Village and South Parkdale areas after hours-long disruptions.
According to the company’s outage map, the issue has been happening since 9 a.m., leaving 1,001-5,000 without power. Multiple traffic lights in the area have not been working, with commuters having to deal with the lack of traffic signals throughout the day.
Toronto Hydro says it is currently responding to the issue, with crews now working to restore service.
“We know how disruptive a power outage can be. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to your homes, daily routines and businesses,” the company said in a statement shared online.
Power is expected to be restored by 5 p.m., but the company says this estimate might change as the situation changes.
Toronto Hydro did not confirm what has caused the outage.
