Toronto Pride road closures: Routes for Parade, Dyke March and Street Fair

With the Pride Street Fair, Pride Dyke March and Pride Parade coming up this weekend, these are the road closures to look out for.

What to know

  • The Pride Street Fair runs all weekend, closing parts of Church and Wellesley from Friday morning to Monday morning.
  • The Pride Dyke March takes over downtown on Saturday from 1 p.m. to around 6 p.m.—expect closures along Hayden, Yonge, Gould, and Church streets.
  • The Pride Parade on Sunday means rolling road closures starting as early as 8 a.m., with more streets joining at 11 a.m. and noon.
  • Most major roads will reopen by 8 p.m. on Sunday, so plan your route and expect some detours!

Toronto is about to be fabulous, but a little less drivable. Pride weekend is rolling in with vendors, concerts and a parade of road closures. Here’s what you need to know to best plan your commute.

With many activities this weekend, including the Pride Street Fair, Pride Dyke March, and Pride Parade, expect numerous road closures.

So, Now Toronto compiled a list of road closures to help you navigate your downtown commute this weekend.

According to the Toronto Police Service (TPS), the Pride Street Fair, running from 8 a.m. on Friday, June 26 until 7 a.m. on Monday, June 29, will result in road closures in the Church and Wellesley Village community.

The Pride Dyke March, taking place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, will begin at the north end of the Pride Street Fair along Hayden Street at Church Street, and will step off at 2 p.m. Here’s the route:

  • Hayden St from Yonge St to Church St
  • Yonge St from Bloor St E. to Gould St
  • Gould St from Yonge St to Church St
  • Church St from Gould St to Hayden St

A full closure of these roads will be in effect from 1 p.m. until the conclusion of the march, anticipated to be around 6 p.m.

The Pride Parade is the following day, forming at Rosedale Valley Road at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, and closing roads to Park Road and Bayview Ave.

At 11 a.m., four more roads are closing, too.

  • Church St from Yonge St to Bloor St E.
  • Park Road from Rosedale Valley Rd to Bloor St E.
  • Asquith Ave from Yonge St to Park Road
  • Collier St from Yonge St to Church St

At noon, four more streets are joining that list.

  • Bloor St W. from Bay St to Ted Rogers Way
  • Yonge St from Church St to Queen St E.
  • Dundas St W. from University Ave to Victoria St
  • Bay St from Queen St to Dundas St

All roads are expected to reopen near 8 p.m.
