In the video, she shared that she went to Metro to look for cheese, and she noticed something was off.
“I pick up this cheese that legit has like mold on it,” she said in her video.
“That’s actually insane. It’s like fully moldy, you can see it. That’s ridiculous,” Anetah continued.
So, she took the cheese to the front.
Anetah also captioned her video, “$5.99 for moldy cheese is wild ngl.”
‘Not even expired yet’: Other metro-goers react in the comments
“It’s a manufacturing error, or it’s a refrigeration issue,” one TikTok user said.
“Notify them, and they’ll remove it from the shelf,” another user suggested.
“Who missed that in product control?” one user questioned.
“I saw expired meat,” another user related.
“And it’s not even expired yet, that’s crazy!” another said, also attaching a screenshot from Anetah’s video.

The picture shows the expiry date as Sept. 10, 2026.
Metro addresses concerns
Metro told Now Toronto that it is not in a position to comment on an individual social media post, but that food quality and safety remain top priorities for the grocery chain.
“Any product that does not meet our standards is removed from sale when brought to our attention,” a Metro spokesperson said.
