
Toronto police are looking for four suspects after a shocking incident where Molotov cocktails were thrown through the window of a Liberty Village storefront.
On Wednesday, Aug. 14 shortly after 3:45 a.m., police responded to a call about a fire in the area of East Liberty Street and Hanna Avenue.
According to police, three suspects approached a store in the area and removed items from a bag before smashing the window and throwing “Molotov cocktails” into the storefront before fleeing the scene. A Molotov cocktail is a hand-thrown incendiary weapon filled with flammable substances and a fuse.
Police say that there was another suspect acting as a lookout in the area, who is seen riding a bike in surveillance footage.
Toronto Fire was able to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. It is unclear which storefront was targeted in this incident.
This first suspect is described as wearing a black hoodie, black face mask, light-coloured sweatpants, black shoes, and black gloves.
The second and third suspects were wearing a black hoodie, black face mask, black pants, black shoes, and black gloves.
Meanwhile, police say the fourth suspect, who was riding a bicycle, was wearing a dark blue hoodie, black face mask, black pants, black shoes, blue gloves, and was carrying a red gym bag.
