After a slightly cooler week, temperatures are expected to rise again in Toronto this weekend, demonstrating that the summer is far from over in the city.
Following a cooler Wednesday, Torontonians woke up to below-seasonal temperatures on Thursday, but the summer heat is soon making a comeback.
According to the Environment Canada forecast, temperatures are expected to pick up midday on a mainly sunny Thursday, reaching a high of 26ºC with humidity making it feel like 30. Conditions will be clear in the evening, with an expected low of 14ºC.
Temperatures are expected to keep picking up as the weekend arrives, as Friday is expected to be sunny, with a high of 27ºC with a humidex of 30. The evening will also bring clear conditions, with a low of 17ºC.
A mix of sun and cloud is expected on Saturday, with a 30 per cent chance of showers throughout the day, and a high of 28ºC. Cloudy periods are expected during the evening, with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a low of 19ºC.
Similar conditions are expected on Sunday, with a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day and a 30 per cent chance in the evening, and a high of 29ºC and a low of 18ºC.
Air Quality
After last week was marked by poor air quality conditions due to smoke coming from the wildfires in Northern Ontario, this week has brought cleaner air back to Toronto.

On the other hand, there are still 145 active wildfires in the province, with most of them being considered extreme, and 41 of them out of control, according to Ontario’s Forest Fire map.
The cooler conditions earlier this week came after several days of above-seasonal temperatures and hazardous wildfire smoke, as a cooler air mass moved into southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says that cooler pattern is now shifting east, allowing warmer summer temperatures to return across the Greater Toronto Area heading into the weekend.
With warmer temperatures and improved air quality expected to continue, the weekend is shaping up to be far more comfortable for outdoor activities than last week, when wildfire smoke prompted air quality warnings and forced the cancellation of several outdoor events across Toronto.
