
TTC riders need to plan ahead for the upcoming subway closures affecting Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) this weekend.
LINE 2 CLOSURE
On Friday, April 4, starting at 11 p.m., subway service between Warden and Kennedy stations on Line 2 will be replaced by shuttle buses to accommodate planned extension work at Kennedy station.
This closure will continue through Saturday and Sunday.. TTC staff will be present to help guide riders.
Both Warden and Kennedy stations will remain open to support fare purchases and connections to buses and streetcars.
Two extra Wheel-Trans vehicles will be available for customers with accessibility needs.
LINE 1 CLOSURE
Subway service on Line 1 between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations will be fully suspended on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, to allow for planned track work.
Shuttle buses will operate between the impacted stations throughout the weekend, and TTC staff will be on-site to assist customers.
However, all subway stations along the closure route will remain open for fare purchases and connection to surface transit routes.
For riders requiring accessible service, two additional Wheel-Trans buses will run between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations.
ACCESSIBILITY AND SERVICE UPDATES
Riders can check the status of elevators and escalators across the TTC network by calling the TTC lift line at 416-539-5438 (LIFT).
Regular subway service for both Line 1 and Line 2 is scheduled to resume at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 7.
