A Waterloo woman plans to buy a sandwich as her celebratory reward after winning a $5 million lottery prize.

On Friday, OLG announced Sarah Nellis had won the top prize with Instant Mega. She is a mother of seven who’s been playing the lottery for years and especially enjoys Instant games.

“I scanned my ticket using the OLG app on my phone. I was certainly surprised when I saw that I’d won the top prize,” Nellis said, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her cheque.

“I shared the good news with my mom and my kids by sending them a screenshot of the winning message and asking them to check their phones. Everyone was shocked!” she continued.

Nellis said she intends to buy an accessible home, more lottery tickets and a Reuben sandwich from The Daily Grill in Waterloo with her winnings.

“This win comes with a sense of relief. It truly feels like a Christmas miracle,” she said.
