Toronto’s beautiful Music Garden is hosting 18 free concerts for the Harbourfront Centre’s annual concert series this summer.
Summer Music in the Garden (SMIG) is welcoming the public for its 22nd season of free concerts by JUNO award-winning Canadian musicians, international artists and more.
Enjoy baroque, operatic and chamber music ensembles, alongside a wide range of musical genres from Indigenous classical music, Arabic jazz, folk, and blues as you sit by the relaxing waterfront.
Some artists this year include National Youth Orchestra Of Canada, Tafelmusik, and Moneka Arabic Jazz, among others.
These performances are curated by Toronto’s award-winning music director Gregory Oh and Associate Curator Rebecca Cuddy, a Canadian/Indigenous (Métis) Mezzo-Soprano who has sung across Canada, the U.K. and Europe.
The intimate musical experience will start on June 21 with Canada’s first Inuk professional classical singer, Deantha Edmunds.
SMIG concerts take place most Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. from June 21 to August 27. Free guided tours will also be available on select days.
