Some people on the internet are in an uproar following the Oscars this weekend.
Angela Bassett was trending on Twitter after losing in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at this year’s 95th Academy Awards.
Movie fans were upset with the award celebration and believed Bassett was snubbed on Sunday after losing the award to Jamie Lee Curtis for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Good for Angela Bassett not smiling nor clapping. Y’all expect Black women to not only be exceptional, but be happy for other who get accolades we deserve over and over.

jamie lee curtis over stephanie hsu and angela bassett is so deeply unserious because of all the roles she's had in her life there is no way she should have won in eeaao. it should have been FREAKY FRIDAY.

Meanwhile, others felt she was a sore loser.
Angela Bassett is an amazing actress, but the sore loser vibe… 😕 It would be great to see women supporting each other, even in the face of disappointment (esp. during women’s history month)

Angela Bassett is a sore loser, let’s not make it a thing about race. Jamie Lee Curtis has been a cheerleader for all women this awards season, why can’t Bassett do the same when she loses? #oscars

Jamie Lee Curtis applauded for Angela Bassett at the Golden Globes, so why couldn’t Bassett reciprocate? Sore loser and no class.

Bassett may not have gotten the recognition she wanted but she got the love she deserved from fellow actors.
Black Panther co-star Micheal B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors gave Bassett some encouragement while presenting a different award.
“Hey, Auntie. We love you,” they said on stage.
