It’s been a month since the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake but now the Toronto rapper is back with a feature on local internet personality Snowd4y’s new remix.

On Monday night, SoundCloud rapper Snowd4y dropped a Toronto remix to Plain White T’s 2005 hit “Hey There Delilah” and to much to fans’ surprise, Drake is actually on it.

The remix is called “Wah Gwan Delilah” and is basically a Toronto parody of the original song.

At first glance, many fans speculated that the rapper used artificial intelligence (AI) to simulate Drake’s verses. However, early Tuesday morning, Drake confirmed that it was him after posting a screenshot of the cover on his Instagram story. The rapper tagged Snowd4y and captioned the story, “Wake up the city.”

In addition, Snowd4y also posted a video on his Instagram of his friends reacting to Drake’s feature on the track, which the OVO rapper also liked. Those who keep up with Snowd4y would also know that he’s been teasing the feature for weeks.

Since the track was released, the internet has been blowing up with different reactions. However, it seems the single is mostly favoured by Torontonians because of the heavy Toronto accent, the slang and the extremely relatable Toronto culture references.

For instance, the song mentions PRESTO cards, Toronto traffic, King Street bar “Mademoiselle,” shiesties, Russian creams, Canada’s Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) and a shout out to Scarborough Bluffs and Jane Street.

As a matter of fact, aside from Torontonians, many Americans are actually confused by the remix.

“WHAT IS THIS LMAOOOOOO,” one X user posted.

“Canada is a different place bruh,” another user said.

“Bro said “im so cheesed” idk what Canadians are but they are NOT people,” another user commented.

“Am I hearing this right?” another user questioned.

Some users have even gone as far to say they wish it was AI and that this is the worst song Drake has ever been featured on. They’re also concerned that Drake’s beef with Lamar has gone to his head.

Meanwhile, many Toronto fans are loving the track for its deep-rooted Toronto testimonials that only people living in this city would understand.

“A gift for Toronto ❤ ️ props for boosting the Toronto man and his tune,” one TikTok user said.

“One for the city, the goat can do what he wants,” one user said.

“If you’re not from Toronto, you won’t get it!” another user commented.

“Y’all don’t understand, this is huge for Toronto mans,” another said.

Before this, Drake recently appeared on Sexyy Red’s “U My Everything” where he rapped over Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” beat, a popular sample that the American rapper created as a diss track to Drake.
