
The weekend is finally here, and from a Stanley Cup Playoffs watch party at Illuminarium to a free Asian Heritage Month celebration, there is something for everyone happening in Toronto this weekend.
Friday May 9
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers at Illuminarium
Toronto’s NHL playoff journey continues, and fans can experience the thrill of watching the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Florida Panthers in Game 3 of their series, at a live watch party hosted by Illuminarium Toronto.
Boasting a 24-foot screen and surround sound, fans can enjoy a 360 degree immersive experience where every seat feels like they are sitting rink-side. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase, and the event features a memorabilia giveaway.
Doors open 20 minutes before game time, and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $25 and are available here.
Wine Fest Toronto
Enjoy rosé all day at Wine Fest Toronto.
The festival is taking over Exhibition Place’s Heritage Court located at 19 Nunavut Rd., giving attendees the opportunity to try various wines, spirits, cocktails, Canned Cocktails and Seltzers and more!
The event runs from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, and 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Saturday.

Outside Looking In
Outside Looking In is returning to Toronto for its 18th annual show. The performance will see Indigenous youth command the stage in a performance featuring 100 dancers from 14 Indigenous communities. The theme for 2025, “Share the Flame,” combines hip-hop and Indigenous cultures for a high-energy show sure to take your breath away.
Attendees can also look forward to an exciting lineup of Indigenous musicians who will join the dancers onstage, including JUNO Award-winning Mohawk artist Shub and Indigenous Music Award-winning hip-hop artist Drezus.
The show runs from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. and tickets range from $45 to $70. You can find tickets here.
Saturday May 10
Asian Heritage Month Celebration at Mel Lastman Square
Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with a party at Mel Lastman Square.
Organized by the Chinese Cultural Centre of Toronto, Toronto City Councillor Lily Cheng, and The Welcome Market, the celebration is set to feature over 70 Asian-owned businesses, live performances, and more.
The event is free to attend, and runs from 12-9 p.m.
Planted Expo Toronto 2025
Vegans, vegetarians, and those who love plant-based food should head to the Toronto Enercare Centre on Saturday for Planted Expo, the self-proclaimed largest plant-based event in the country.
Attendees can browse, shop and learn more from over 200 plant-based, vegan, and sustainable exhibitors, brands, and services.
Tickets are available for single- and two-day admission and can be purchased here, while children under 12 can attend for free.
Pawchella
Head to Hunter’s Landing on Saturday for an event for dog lovers and their furry friends.
Pawchella is a canine-themed festival that dog parents and their pups won’t want to miss. The event features live music, a menu curated for dogs, professional photography, a doggy pool, giveaways, raffles and more.
The party is also off-leash, meaning dogs can roam free. Meanwhile, if you love dogs but don’t have your own, you’re welcome to attend. Pawchella starts at 4 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m.

Toronto Kids Fashion Week
Calling all young fashion icons! Toronto Kids Fashion Week is returning to Toronto, and auditions are going down this Saturday!
The show celebrates fashion, art, and culture while highlighting local and international kids’ wear brands. Children between the ages of three and 18 are eligible to apply.

Mother’s Day Reggae Brunch
Celebrate your mama at a special reggae celebration featuring love, music and flavour at the National Event Venue, located at 1000 Finch Ave. W, North York.
Guests can enjoy live reggae music and tribute performances while indulging in a gourmet Caribbean brunch. Don your cowboy hat and favourite blue jeans for Spurs Night, a line dancing night for 2SLGBTQ+ people and their friends.
The event is taking over Owls Club on Sunday from 7-11 p.m. and will feature line dancing tutorials, country music, and good vibes.
