Friday, May 8 

Brazil vs Toronto FC Legends

  • Location: BMO Field, 170 Princes’ Blvd.

Brazilian football legends are set to come face-to-face with Toronto FC icons! For the first time ever, icon Ronaldinho is hitting the 6ix to headline North America’s inaugural Living Legends match at BMO Field. The event will also bring together some of the sport’s most recognizable names, including Adriano, Emerson and Maicon for Brazil Legends, and Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore, Julian de Guzman and Dwayne De Rosario representing Toronto FC legends. Tickets to this one-night only showcase are still on sale starting at $39. This is also an awesome way to kick off the love for the game ahead of the FIFA World Cup this summer.

Departure Festival

Toronto’s city-wide Departure Festival closes out this weekend with music showcases, panels, film screenings, and cultural programming across downtown venues. Some events to look out at this weekend include a SiriusXM Spotlight Series on Canadian country music artist Sacha, as well as the screening of Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience, an epic concert film featuring the global K-Pop sensation.

Toronto Bird Show

Calling all the bird enthusiasts! Canada’s only travelling large performing parrot show perches in Toronto this Saturday. 

This all ages show features parrots performing talking, dancing and flying tricks, colourful Macaws, dancing Moluccan cockatoos, talking Amazon parrots, intelligent African greys and so much more. Tickets are on sale for $38 for adults, and around $32 for children. 

Asian Heritage Month Celebration

  • Location: Mel Lastman Square, 5100 Yonge St.

The Welcome Market is spotlighting Asian-owned businesses, food vendors, artists, and creators to celebrate  Asian Heritage Month. For two days, visitors can expect over 95 local vendors offering everything from food to vintage to art, a stamp station, a beer garden and more than 16 live performances. Admission is free.

Toronto Flower Market 

  • Location: 1001 Queen St W. 

One of the city’s prettiest spring traditions returns with locally grown blooms. Roses, peonies or tulips? The Toronto Flower Market has it all! Founded in May 2013, it is the city’s first outdoor flower market that supports Ontario grown flowers and plants. Admission is free.

Mother’s Day at the Garden

  • Location: Toronto Botanical Garden, 777 Lawrence Ave. E.

This Mother’s Day, celebrate the special woman in your life with a day surrounded by spring beauty at the Toronto Botanical Garden. On Sunday, the Mother’s Day Marketplace features over 50 local sustainable vendors offering everything from handcrafted goods to eco-conscious gifts. Admission is free and the market is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Mother’s Day Food Tour

  • Location: Kensington Market

On this Mother’s Day Food Tour, discover hidden gems and newfound favourites in one of Toronto’s most beloved neighbourhoods. From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this Sunday, tickets are going for $89. 

Toronto Artisan Market

  • Location: Trinity Bellwoods Park, 790 Queen St. W. 

Browse handmade goods, art, jewellery, candles, and local products from Toronto Black, Indigenous, POC and LGBTQ+ artists makers! The market is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free.
