In photos: An immersive look at one of Ukraine’s most important artists

Lighthouse Immersive has been prolific in the last few years, bringing works of Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh and other iconic artists to life. Now the blockbuster art producers have turned their eyes to Ukraine, launching a new exhibit Immersive Shevchenko: Soul Of Ukraine.

Poet, painter and playwright Taras Shevchenko is considered one of the most important Ukrainian cultural figures of the 19th century. His works created the foundation of modern Ukrainian literature. Throughout his career he sought to illustrate the soul of Ukraine through its people, natural beauty and rich culture, which is very evident in the photos below.

The show was created by a Ukrainian studio, RocknLight and First Theatrical Charitable Foundation, who is still working in Ukraine during the Russian invasion. The new show fills the space at 1 Yonge with deeply felt artworks you can step right into.
