
Summer is coming up – and so is concert season. From The Kid LAROI to underground artists, here’s what Toronto has in store for concertgoers this week.
Everyone from A-List celebrities to festival performers and local artists are headed to the 6ix, and there are endless opportunities to dance and sing this week.
Here are some of the artists performing this week:
The Paper Kites
- When: Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m.
- Where: History Toronto
The Paper Kites is coming to rock the night with indie-folk/rock-folk music. The Australian band has reached a global audience with over 2 billion streams and is popular for their song Bloom, which reflects on deep love, vulnerability, and finding comfort in a partner. They recently released their album, If You Go There, I Hope You Find It. The event starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $58 on Ticketmaster.
The Kid LAROI
- When: Friday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m.
- Where: Coca-Cola Coliseum
“COME DOWN” to the Coca-Cola Coliseum for The Kid LAROI’s concert at 7:30 p.m. on May 15. The Australian singer/songwriter and rapper, known for blending hip-hop and melodic pop, rose to fame with his 2021 single “Stay” featuring Justin Bieber. He’s also recently released his album, BEFORE I FORGET, following his breakup with Calgary-born artist Tate McRae. Tickets start at $90 and go up to $302 by the time of publication.
Bloodywood
- When: Friday, May 15 at 6 p.m.
- Where: The Danforth Music Hall
If you’ve seen Monkey Man, you’ve definitely heard Bloodywood’s music, as their song “Dana-Dan” was featured in the movie. The Indian folk-metal band is known for fusing heavy metal with traditional Punjabi instruments like the dhol and tumbi. Their music focuses on social issues such as anti-corruption, mental health and anti-rape culture. General admission starts at $62.
The Anti-Queens
- When: Friday, May 15 at 8 p.m.
- Where: Lee’s Palace’s The Dance Cave
Get ready for a high-energy concert with The Anti-Queens on May 15. The Toronto-based punk rock band is bringing their 90s-influenced grunge, mixed with modern punk, to the scene. The band’s known for their song “Worse Than Death,” and their most recent release is the 2024 album Disenchanted. Buy a ticket to their concert for $25 plus fees.
Elephant Man
- When: Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
- Where: REBEL
Grammy-nominated Elephant Man, known for his timeless song “Pon De River, Pon De Bank,” is performing at REBEL this weekend for a dancehall party. The popular Jamaican artist will be performing his set over Victoria Day weekend, marking his first solo headline in a decade. Advanced general admission costs $100.
Adriatrique
- When: Saturday, May 16
- Where: Woodbine Park, Stage one
Check out the Electric Island festival for some techno beats by one of the headliners: Adriatrique. The Swiss duo, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer, are well-known in the electronic music scene, known for their futuristic “X” event concept and presence. Recently, the pair released the song “Closer”. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the event runs till 10 p.m. If you’re over 19, get your general admission ticket starting at $122.43.
Emerson Woolf & The Wishbones
- When: Sunday, May 17 at 7 p.m.
- Where: The Drake Underground
Sundays don’t have to be boring. Go to Emerson Woolf & the Wishbones’ concert at The Drake Underground on May 17 to enjoy some indie alternative, folk rock, dark country and pop Americana music. They’re known for their song Thia Kane, and have most recently released an album, The World Is Your Oyster. Tickets are $25 plus fees.
