In addition to being a Canadian show, the series was filmed in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
So, Amazon Prime Video Canada released an episode of the game “O Canada,” quizzing the Off Campus cast on their Canadian knowledge. And who would be a better host than Canadian actor Stephen Kalyn, from Markham, who portrayed Dean Di Laurentis on the show?

Episode highlights
Present in the game were Ella Bright (Hannah Wells), Belmont Cameli (Garrett Graham), Josh Heuston (Justin Kaul), Antonio Cipriano (John Logan), Jalen Thomas Brooks (John Tucker), Mika Abdalla (Allie Hayes) and the host Stephen Kalyn (Dean Di Laurentis).
The first quest: to sing Canada’s national anthem. Most cast members succeeded, but Ella Bright, who portrayed the lead character Hannah Wells, miserably failed.
“How do they know?” she questioned her castmates’ success.
Later, Kalyn asked what shocked them the most about Canadians.
“Oh, you know, eh,” Josh Heuston joked in an attempt to imitate the Canadian accent.
In all seriousness, he explained he’s seen on TV that Canadians were generically nice, and that he now knows it’s true.
Belmont Cameli agreed.
“All of our friends, like, local Vancouver. Some of the nicest people,” Cameli said.
The cast’s camaraderie shone through playful banter, including Cameli’s obsession with orcas and his enjoyment of the “breathtaking” drive to Whistler. Others shared their excitement about golfing and visiting Vancouver’s beaches, further emphasizing the genuine connection the cast developed with Canada.
Cameli also called Vancouver gorgeous. Toronto, are we jealous? Should the second season take place in the city?
Later on, Jalen Thomas Brooks highlighted his love for BeaverTails, an iconic Canadian staple.
“It’s like this like pastry, and they put like a bunch of chocolate on,” he said.
Based on his descriptions, Canadians can assume he ordered the Hazel Amour, a pastry spread with chocolate hazelnut and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
In the show’s topic, hockey, the cast discussed how Canada made them feel more connected to the sport.
“There’s a hockey rink everywhere you go. The extras and stunt doubles are all from Canada, and so they all grew up on skates,” Brooks said.
He said that the cameramen could even skate backwards.
“I think it was just this aura of ‘we do hockey, and you don’t,’” he added.
The episode wrapped up with more laughs as Cameli and Kaylen solidified their on-set bromance, Cameli expressing that working with Kaylen was his favorite part of the experience.
“He’s my favourite Canadian,” Cameli said.
The internet is obsessed
Comments started flooding with love as soon as the episode was posted.
“As a CANADIAN I LOVE THIS!!” one TikTok user commented.
“Someone needs to get Antonio a Beavertail,” another wrote.
Some hockey fans are also getting competitive in the comments.
“Is Stephen Kalyn a Leafs fan, and if so, how can we protect the rest of the cast from becoming Leafs fans?” one user commented.
“Belmont is from Chicago, so he should know about hockey,” another added.
But like many Torontonians, Off Campus fans hope the cast comes to the GTA.
“Stephen, can you pls take your castmates to Markham so I can see everyone?” one user begged.
