The long weekend is already looking delicious, as this Toronto-based Jamaican spot is dishing out some free patties for one day only.

Popular restaurant Roywoods, known for its grab-and-go selection of Caribbean eats like oxtail plates and jerk chicken sandwiches, is kicking off Victoria Day weekend by giving away 100 free Jamaican patties this Friday at two Greater Toronto Area locations.

Starting at 11 a.m. on May 15, patty lovers can swing by Roywoods’ Union Station location in downtown Toronto or their Square One spot in Mississauga to grab one of the restaurant’s beloved patties — completely free.

The giveaway is available while quantities last, so anyone hoping to score a free bite may want to get there early.

And while a classic always hits, this isn’t just your standard beef patty situation either.

Customers will have five flavours to choose from, including oxtail, curry shrimp, jerk chicken, veggie, and beef in both mild and spicy varieties.

Whether you’re heading into the office, catching a GO Train, or spending the day shopping at Square One, it’s a pretty solid excuse to make a lunch stop!
