Many Canadians were ecstatic at his arrival.

“Canada loves you back,” one Threads user wrote.

“Love that you came home for Canada’s first game! Hopefully you can make it to the game in Vancouver too! Let’s gooooo!” another commented for the Vancouver-born actor to travel home.

“The amount of money he raises every single year for Canadian hospitals, wildlife protection, and numerous other Canadian charities is more than any other Canadian celebrity. He got the order of Canada for good reason,” another user commented.

Not everyone was enthusiastic, with some commenters using the post to criticize Reynolds or reference broader celebrity controversies unrelated to the match itself.

“He’s only Canadian when it’s convenient for him or when he can monetize it. Mike Myers on the other hand is Canadian through and through,” one user wrote.
