People around the world gathered in Scotland over the weekend to participate in the biggest hunt for the Loch Ness monster in over 50 years.

The Loch Ness Centre held a gathering on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27 called “The Quest” with the help of “monster hunter volunteers” from across the globe.

It was reportedly the largest gathering of its kind since the Loch Ness Investigation Bureau studied the mythical beast in 1972 after alleged local sightings, according to the Associated Press.

The group partnered with Loch Ness Exploration (LNE), an independent and voluntary research team, to search in the famous waters and get a glimpse of the Loch Ness, also known as Nessie, and uncover its mysteries.

“As part of the weekend of activities, the Loch Ness Centre and LNE are looking for volunteers to take part in a giant surface watch of the Loch, keeping an eye out for breaks in the water and any inexplicable movements,” the site read.

Nessie’s waters weren’t the only cool thing captured on camera.

Despite nothing concrete coming from the search, organizers shared that they uncovered interesting signs that something could be out there, including multiple underwater noises.

“We heard some fantastic bizarre sounds on Friday,” Alan McKenna from Loch Ness Exploration said in a news conference posted to Facebook on Sunday.
