A Toronto Blue Jays player is the target of scrutiny for complaining about cleaning up after his kids during a domestic flight with United Airlines.

In a tweet posted Sunday, Jays pitcher Anthony Bass claims a flight attendant forced his pregnant wife to get on “her hands and knees” and pick up the popcorn mess made by his youngest daughter.

The tweet included a photo of his two young children who are five and two. Bass says the popcorn was provided by the airline.

In response to the incident, United Airlines replied to Bass in a tweet saying it understands his concern and will look into it.

“When you have a moment, please DM your wife’s confirmation number along with any additional details regarding her interaction with this crew member,” it added.

Now Toronto reached out to United Airlines but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

Following the tweet, Bass was flooded by Twitter users who called out the Jays player for his privilege and entitlement.

Others also pointed out that airline crews already have a lot on their plate and expecting them to clean up after your kids is just disrespectful.

On the other hand, there were a few users who agreed with Bass about how the airline should’ve handled the situation.

On Monday, Bass tweeted that United Airlines is “taking care of matters with the flight attendant internally.”
