‘We owe Rebecca Black an apology,’ How the Queen of ‘Friday’ is back and better

Rebecca Black is back!

That’s right, the then 13-year-old behind the infamous “Friday” song from over a decade ago has returned, and is apparently better than ever.

The singer recently went viral after performing the remix version of her song to a crowd in Australia and they were more than ready and willing to receive it.

“This truly made me a little emotional. Love her for taking charge of her narrative,” one TikTok user wrote.

“I love that we as a society are in a place where we can unironically listen and enjoy Friday,” another user wrote.

However, what many don’t know is that Black has been slowly creeping her way back to the top for some time now.

This all began when she dropped the remix version of her iconic song four years ago in order to take back her power and do things on her own terms.

Later, she would appear on season two of the singing competition The Four and blow everyone away with her seasoned vocals.

To say she’s been busy is an understatement, especially after dropping her debut album, Let Her Burn, back in February.

“Not lying when I say I’ve spent about half my life dreaming of this day. I don’t know if I’d ever be able to articulate to my 13 year old self just how sweet this warmth feels. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she captioned her post on X.

“We owe rebecca black an apology,” one X user commented.

Black has overcome a lot at a very young age and continues to prove that she has thick skin, that she’s been a star and will always be a star.

In 2020, she posted a lengthy statement on the nine-year anniversary of “Friday” where she detailed all the hardships she faced as a teenager.
