One of Toronto’s best recreational spaces is going to be transformed into a wintery wonderland.

RendezViews, the Richmond Street parking lot turned urban escape, has reimagined its identity for the winter months, swapping out picnic tables for cottage style huts, cozy bonfires and an ice rink.

The limited-time escape called WinterViews is part cottage retreat, part winter wonderland, equipped with ten private dining cabins, a toasty communal lodge to stay warm, and a full food and beverage menu, rounded out by a special selection of hot drinks.

WinterViews synthetic skating rink will be the largest of its kind in Toronto this season. It requires no water or energy to function and is usable in all weather conditions.

Guests are invited to enjoy free skating and equipment rental, which will be available on a first come first serve basis.

“We have had four incredible summers and now we want to bring the same vibrancy and energy to the winter months,” said Oliver Geddes, owner of RendezViews said in a statement.

Make the most of this ever-evolving urban space by warming up post-skate in the Back Country Lodge with a piping hot drink, or satisfy your appetite with a hearty order of grab and go eats.

For a more personal experience, book a private dining room in one of ten secluded cabins.

Each cabin comes with a fire pit to gather around and take in the incredible downtown backdrop.

“RendezViews is a globally celebrated award-winning urban park that meets the modern day desires of a downtown neighbourhood. We are doing everything we can to create something that is always unique, always evolving. Providing pickleball, beach volleyball in the summer and now skating in the winter,” Geddes also said in a press release.

WinterViews skating and lodge will be open Dec. 23, 29 and 30.

The full venue will be open from Jan. 4 onwards. For more information, click here

WinterViews is 19+ after 9 p.m.
