From Ripley’s Aquarium to the Ontario Science Centre, here’s where you can go for free with a Toronto Public Library card

Looking for something free to do in the city? Well, your Toronto Public Library (TPL) card can get you access to 17 attractions across the city.

The TPL recently announced it was adding the CN Tower to its tpl:map program as one of the places people can get free admission to with a valid library card. Passes are available to reserve on the tpl:map site, starting today at 2 p.m.

However, the CN Tower is just one of over a dozen places included in TPL’s program. Here are all the attractions Torontonians can get free admission to with a library card:

  1. Aga Khan Museum
  2. Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)
  3. Bata Shoe Museum
  4. Black Creek Pioneer Village
  5. CN Tower
  6. Gardiner Museum
  7. Hot Docs Festival
  8. Museum of Contemporary Art
  9. Ontario Science Centre
  10. Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
  11. Royal Conservatory of Music
  12. Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)
  13. Tafelmusik
  14. Textile Museum of Canada
  15. Toronto Railway Museum
  16. Toronto Symphony Orchestra
  17. Toronto Zoo

TPL says all you need to do is log into its tpl:map reservation site with your library card, choose an attraction, reserve a date and print or download your pass.

Torontonians are allowed to reserve one pass per attraction once a year and hold one active reservation at a time. 

To sign up for a library card, all you need to do is meet one of the following requirements: 

  1. Live in the City Toronto
  2. Work in the City of Toronto
  3. Go to school in the City of Toronto
  4. Own property in the City of Toronto
  5. Live on a First Nations reserve in Ontario

Torontonians can head to their closest branch to register for a card.
