Torontonians who possess a Toronto Public Library (TPL) card can now get free admission to the CN Tower.
On Tuesday, TPL announced it is adding the iconic city attraction to its tpl:map program and that passes will be available to reserve on the tpl:map site starting Thursday, May 16 at 2 p.m.
“The tpl:map program provides exceptional opportunities to access Toronto’s art galleries, museums and attractions,” TPL Director, Service Development and Innovation Pam Ryan said in a press release.
“We’re excited to include the CN Tower in our offerings, enhancing the cultural horizon of Toronto for families citywide to enjoy,” she continued.
Passes are subject to availability and do not include special attractions. The passes allow a TPL member as well as three others free general admission during regular hours.
This partnership will save guests the usual $43 ticket price for adults and $14 for children for access into the CN Tower.
“Like the CN Tower, Toronto Public Library is an iconic institution that connects our community. That’s why we’re so proud to partner with the library and to join the tpl:map service,” CN Tower Chief Operating Officer Peter George said in a statement.
“This is one of the many ways we are working to make our experience more accessible and inclusive, and we hope many Torontonians will take advantage of this program to come and celebrate with us,” he continued.
The tpl:map program also offers cardholders free access to other popular attractions in the city such as the Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Aga Khan Museum, Ontario Science Centre, Ripley’s Aquarium, and the Toronto Zoo.
