Ever wondered what it would be like to walk across an airport runway without the scary planes taking off every hour?
Well, Torontonians are in luck because Play on the Runway is back at Downsview Airport and they’ll want to get their roller skates on.
On Sunday, July 16, the runway will be blocked off to airplanes and open to families, pets, and kids of all ages.
For one afternoon only from 3 p.m.-6 p.m., on two kilometres of open tarmac, visitors can cruise down the runway with skateboards, bikes, roller skates and anything else, really.
Additionally, to keep the vibes going, the public can expect awesome music from
local DJ’s live and also grab some ice cream too.
Last year, the event saw thousands of visitors and organizers hope the community will come out in drones once again.
To make it extra special, there will be some activities available, including hula hoops, and Pickleball demos and instruction.
