From BJ Birdy to Diamond, and now our current mascot Ace, the Toronto Blue Jays is known for its colourful history of mascots since the franchise’s inception in 1977.

Now one Twitter user is showing off his ideas for how he thinks the mascot should look, with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) software.

Twitter user and sports writer, Dan Szymborski, used AI to make 16 new mascots for the Blue Jays, and the results are both hilarious and frightening.

Though there were some cute options, other social media users found the mascots eerily similar to some children’s characters.
