You can call Canadians a lot of things, but not being able to handle our winter isn’t one of them.
Just ask our neigbours south of the border who are currently losing their minds over how Canada gets down when snow comes knocking on our door.
In fact, a video posted to X on Sunday has people talking after footage showed how a major city in Canada effectively removes its snow.
In the video, a snow removal unit made up of more than four vehicles work effortlessly to clear up a messy residential area in Montreal.
The video has garnered nearly 30 million views in just two days with many Americans having a hard time hiding their jealousy.
“Should be how they remove it here in the states too,” one user wrote.
“Damn the Canadians get down. They don’t play,” another user said.

Others even compared it to their own cities:
“Snow removal in Buffalo is pretending that it’s not there,” one person said.
“Yeah, but have they tried Denver’s approach? (nothing + hope),” someone else chimed in.
“Wow, have city council members in Minneapolis seen this?,” another asked.
Someone even joked that the person in charge should be the Prime Minister of Canada.
Additionally, Toronto is also no stranger to efficient snow removal tactics and is known to also utilize snow melters, snow blowers, front end-loaders and dump trucks after major snow storms.
“It is rare for snow to be removed from city streets because, in most cases, snow can be managed within the existing road allowance. However, when Toronto receives large amounts of snow, the windrows left by snow clearing operations (plowing and salting) can restrict traffic flow, interfere with both pedestrians and parking, and obstruct sightlines,” the city’s website reads.
“When this happens, the City conducts snow removal (collecting the snow and removing it) to designated snow storage and snow melter sites. There is a network of five snow storage and three snow melter sites throughout.”
Toronto has yet to use this snow removal process this winter as there has not been a significant snowfall, but The Weather Network predicts more snow will be coming in the new year.
