Need fitness motivation? Sign up for a running rave

Staying fit can be a challenge during Canada’s long, cold winter months. I find it helps to have something to look forward to. Since the Canadian dollar is in a sad state and warm-weather-destination marathons are no longer a financially viable option, it’s time to turn your attention local.

Luckily, Night Nation Run is coming to Toronto for the first time on July 23 at Woodbine Racetrack (555 Rexdale). Night Nation is the world’s first running music festival, where you zoom through a 5K route filled with live music, laser lights and DJ stages. Bonus: you get a T-shirt and glow necklace to wear and admission to an electronica-filled after party.

Sign up at nightnationrun.com. Tickets are $70, children under eight free.
