Album reviews Music

Flo Rida

Rating: NN

T.I.’s swagger, Bone Thugs and Harmony’s cadences and T-Pain’s vocoder steez combine on this album, which seems to be a composite of the top five rappers of 2007 and a few others from a few years before. His subjects are the standard sex/money/hustler/romance/gangster fantasies, and all the new-millennium fast life references you expect.

Producer Timbaland finds a bit of new spice to mix into his techno-cauldron of R&B rap funk on Elevator. Will.I.Am designs an 80s-inspired electro airborne virus called In The Ayer that you can only pray stays contained, and of course there’s Low. Does that refer to where the bar for club anthems is set?
