This dreamy, romantic French jazz album, full of breathy passion and sentimental sweetness, is guided by understated instrumentalism and a classic love song writer’s touch from beginning to end.
Quand On Se Voit features heated verbal interplay between Grégory Charles and a sweet-as-maple-syrup Chimène Badi. The crumbling centre of Chocolat will leave a delicious taste in your mouth, as the sugary saxophone melts all over moist organs and tasty guitar bits. Later, the slow-building ballad On Sera Deux keeps the tension growing for four intense minutes before releasing us into the next segment of this amorous experience.
A certain percentage of the CD conforms to a too-similar sonic style, but if you’re in the mood for le lover’s jazz musique, Charles takes care of you.
