Noise pop duo Sleigh Bells are one of those love 'em or hate 'em acts. Hell, it's not unusual to find yourself oscillating between the two during the course of a song. By the disc's end, though, they manage to charm the pants off you.
While often described as noise pop, they have little in common with other acts under that umbrella. Picture the bubble-gum cheerleader chants of Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl run through a Marshall stack turned up to 11. Actually, make that a giant wall of Marshalls. This is an incredibly loud, aggressive pop album, with little preciousness or subtlety.
It's primal, visceral, addictive stuff - a perfect mix of sweet and evil unlike pretty much everything else out there.
