I don’t get it. I can almost forgive hopping on the rapidly departing pop-punk bandwagon by wet-behind-the-ears rookie kids, but what’s Less Than Jake’s excuse? For some stupid reason the former ska/punksters have decided to abandon the downbeat and are now almost indistinguishable from all the other pop-punk bands out there. Will the horn section be the next thing to go? Sure, ska-punk is tired, too, but at least you can skank to it. The ska influence does kick in on The Science Of Selling Yourself Short and Motown Never Sounded So Good, thank goodness. But the rest of it is just annoying.
