A video is going viral online after a U.S. school unveiled a new safety system meant to shield students from an active shooter or a natural disaster.

The 20 second video clip has people in their feelings as some online users aren’t impressed with the new safety measure.

KT Security launched a pilot for the ‘The Rapid-Deploy Safe Room System’ in classrooms in Alabama.

The company says the wall system is a fully functional white board that can be pulled out in under 10 seconds to provide protection in the case of an active shooter or severe weather emergency.

The new technology reportedly costs $60,000 USD and is customizable to fit many locations, including classrooms, offices, and other public spaces.

“The frequency of mass casualty shootings is at an all-time high despite a drastic increase in funding and preventative measures taken over the years. This is not something that can wait. Our children’s and loved one’s lives are in danger and something needs to be done right now,” the company wrote on their website.

Some could argue it is an extra layer of protection for students if they are faced with a mass shooting in their school.

Meanwhile, others feel that having whiteboards that turn into gun shelters is problematic and further normalizes gun violence rather than finding a solution to the root cause.

Here’s how some people are reacting to the safe room:
