If the thought of bundling up for an icy outdoor adventure is too much to bear, then Union Station’s brand new indoor roller skating rink might just be the perfect alternative.

The two-month-long, free roller skating experience, thanks to TD Bank, is now open in Union Station’s newly renovated west carriageway.

The Roller Express trail leads skaters through a festively lit train tunnel where they can enjoy all 5,500 sq ft. of the rink, dance to retro-style music and admire colourful projections as they go.

Make the most of free skate and protective wear rentals, available on a first come first served basis, and a separate skating surface for newbies to find their feet, open during all operational hours.

There will be scheduled lessons with instructors on Sundays from 3:00 -5:00 p.m. and Tuesdays from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. for first-timers to learn from the best.

No need to book a skate time in advance and there is no charge for rink time or entry. Guests of all ages are welcome, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Those 19 and over are invited to grab an alcoholic bevvy and dance their way through the tunnel at exclusive Beats & Boogie Saturday skate nights between 7:00- 11:00 p.m.

Attendees are required to present an ID at the door. Entry is free.

A one hour skate time is recommended to ensure everyone gets their turn.
