On Tuesday, Trump imposed 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian imports and 10 per cent levies on Canadian energy. In response, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the country is fighting back with 25 per cent retaliatory tariffs on American goods.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford, also announced retaliatory measures Tuesday, including scrapping American booze from LCBO stores and ripping up a Starlink contract with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, which was supposed to provide internet service to rural communities in the province.

Since January, when Trump first announced his intentions to roll out the tariffs to combat the “fentanyl crisis” at the U.S.-Canada border, many Canadians have been opting to buy local products in retaliation. The president says the tariffs won’t be lifted until he’s pleased with Canada’s response to the number of illegal drugs crossing the border.
In addition to buying local products at the grocery store, you can also treat yourself to Canadian-owned fast food. Below are some local options that can replace your American go-to takeout spots.
