Canada, are you ready to Rrroll?! Tim Hortons returns with its iconic contest, and this time, it’s throwing it back for the day one fans.
The coffee retailer announced on Monday that Roll Up To Win is coming back on Feb. 24, but this year Tim Hortons will be reintroducing hot beverage cups with rims that can be rolled up to reveal a prize!

“Guests loved celebrating the 60th anniversary of Tim Hortons with us last year and it inspired us to bring back some classic Roll Up cups this year for a limited time,” Tim Hortons Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi said in a press release.
The contest was first launched in 1986 and was known as Roll up the Rim to Win until 2020, where the promotion went completely digital. The platform shift came amid the COVID-19 pandemic in a push for safer sanitation regulations, which would prevent staff from handling rims that had been touched and sipped by customers.
This time around, Tim Hortons has decided to give customers the option of being able to play online in the Tims app, with digital Rolls available to be earned with eligible purchases. Tens of millions of prizes are up for grabs, the café company says, including electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, vacations, electronics, gift cards, Tim Hortons products, and so much more!

Although the rollable beverage cups are only back for a limited time, Bagozzi mentioned that the company hasn’t ruled out bringing them back in the future.
“If it’s really well received, guests really like it and things go to expectation, that’s something we’ll evaluate at the end of this year’s game and then determine if it makes sense to bring it back,” she said.
Canadians are reacting to the return of the beloved promotion.
“No way???? That is awesome,” a user said on X.
“I’m really surprised. I figured we’d never see roll up the rim cups again because of sanitary issues and the app,” another user wrote on the platform.
“It’s about time,” one X user said.
“Good! Finally the people who dont own cell phones can play again,” another X user said.
