From Pride events to free concerts, here’s what’s happening in Toronto this June

Here’s where to catch live music, waterfront events, movie nights and more as summer arrives in the city.

June is almost here, which means the countdown to summer is officially on! Toronto is fully stepping into the season with a packed lineup of festivals, concerts, outdoor movies and community celebrations taking over the city this month. 

From waterfront performances and Pride events to immersive theatre experiences and FIFA fan festivities, we’ve rounded up some of the hottest ways to soak up the season.

Here are 10 events to make the most of Toronto this June.

Luminato Festival

Date: June 3 to 28
Location: Various locations
Admission: A mix of free and ticketed events 

Toronto’s premier international multi-disciplinary arts festival makes its way back to the city this June.

The Luminato Festival returns to Toronto this summer under the theme: PLAY. Known for its unique curated programming, the festival invites audiences to explore how art and performance can reimagine the city through imagination, movement and meaning.

This year, audiences can enjoy a range of talent in dance, music, theatre, circus acts and more. Take advantage of legendary magicians Penn & Teller headed to Meridian Hall on June 5 and 6, or perhaps you’re feeling some soulful sounds? JUNO Award–winning powerhouse Divine Brown hits Harbourfront Concert Stage on June 13 for Lovin’ You: The Minnie Riperton Story. There will also be a number of free and family-friendly activations and performances, including Redball, Anthems to Colour, and the concert showcase Luminato at Harbourfront on June 12. 

TOgether for Toronto Healthcare

Date: June 6
Location: Nathan Phillips Square
Admission: Free

Toronto is coming together — or should we say, TOgether this June for a free music and wellness festival at Nathan Phillips Square in support of local healthcare.

Presented by Fitzrovia, the TOgether for Toronto Healthcare will feature performances from Feist, Alessia Cara, Broken Social Scene and Paul Langlois of The Tragically Hip, while raising funds for UHN and Michael Garron Hospital Foundations. The inaugural festival also comes with a goal to raise over $1 million in support of UHN and Michael Garron Hospital Foundations, in a push to keep local hospitals healthy, resilient, and moving forward.

The festival kicks off at noon. 

Pride at the Garden

Date: June 7
Location: Toronto Botanical Garden
Admission: Free

Looking for a chill Pride celebration? This outdoor garden gathering invites guests to celebrate at their own pace with live music, community activities and plenty of green space to relax.

Taking over the Toronto Botanical Garden, Pride at the Garden invites visitors to bring a picnic blanket — or borrow one on-site — and settle in for an afternoon of connection, creativity and Queer joy. The event will feature intimate performances by Queer artists, a community plant swap, drag programming with TITA, and a Sparkle Bloom Bar offering all things glitter, gems and florals. 

Visitors can also stop by the Dandelion Café for snacks and drinks, while families can enjoy themed crafts and activities at the Children’s Centre. The event begins at 12 p.m. 

See You Downtown Series

Date: June 11 throughout September
Location: Clarence Square Park, Roundhouse Park and David Pecaut Square
Admission: Free

Explore the heart of the city through this beloved series returning to the 6ix.

See You Downtown is turning up the volume this June with the return of the Summer Music Series at The Deck in Clarence Square Park. Launching June 11, the free weekly series will bring live performances from local artists to the outdoor space every Thursday and Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. through September.

Also, something to look forward to in the series is DoggieFest, which officially makes a comeback on June 14 with a jam-packed day dedicated to pups and the people who love them. Taking over Roundhouse Park and Clarence Square, the event will feature more than 30 local pet vendors, interactive experiences, treats, accessories and art. Visitors can also catch a live DJ set and a dog costume contest at Clarence Square from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

The festivities continue with six weeks of free outdoor movie screenings at David Pecaut Square beginning June 24. Presented in partnership with TIFF, the See You Downtown summer film series will spotlight beloved sports movies about underdogs, teamwork and chasing big dreams, including Cool Runnings, A League of Their Own, Bend It Like Beckham and more. Screenings take place every Wednesday evening with pre-show programming at 9 p.m. and films beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Starstruck: A Black Light Theatre Sensation

Date: June 12
Location: Famous PEOPLE Players
Admission: Starting at $50 for children, $72 for adults

Dim down the lights and turn up the fun this June, because Starstruck: A Black Light Theatre Sensation is coming through with the ultimate soccer-themed musical experience. 

Just in time for the FIFA World Cup celebrations, this immersive production combines music, movement and glowing stage effects designed to wow audiences of all ages. And where there’s fun, food isn’t too far behind! Guests can pair the show with a gourmet lunch or dinner service as part of the “Dine & Dream” experience, with performances running Tuesday through Sunday. 

ROM After Dark: Locally Crafted

Date: June 12
Location: Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)
Admission: $40

Rom After Dark: Locally Crafted returns to the Royal Ontario Museum for an after-hours celebration of Ontario’s iconic craft beverages, food, music, and culture. Guests can explore the ROM’s newest exhibition, BEES: A Story of Survival, while enjoying Ontario craft beers and wines paired with bites from some of Toronto’s top restaurants.

A highlight of the evening is Moving Monuments, a live collaboration between Robot Orchestra creator Danny Shaddick and JUNO Award-winning rapper Shad. Presented with Atlas Obscura and Destination Toronto, the performance combines kinetic sculpture, music, and storytelling through a towering robotic instrument built from repurposed materials gathered across Toronto — celebrating the city’s creativity, diversity, and vibrant communities.

The lights go down and the vibes go up starting at 7:30 p.m. 

Kyle Cooke

Date: June 13
Location: Cabana Pool Bar
Admission: Starting at $20 

Summer should be fun, right? No words said by Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kyle Cooke could be truer, as he’s heading to Cabana Pool Bar for a true daytime party in the 6ix.

Best known for Bravo’s iconic Summer House and his drink brand Loverboy, Cooke will make an appearance at the waterfront venue for a daytime vibe filled with music, cocktails and poolside energy.

Doors open at 1 p.m., and tiered tickets are currently starting at $20. 

FIFA Fan Festival

Date: June 11 to July 19
Location: Fort York: Garrison Common
Admission: Free, premium packages available starting at $100 

The world’s biggest football tournament is heading to Toronto, and the city’s got the ultimate fan hotspot to ring in the occasion.

FIFA Fan Festival Toronto is bringing all the energy this June, offering live match screenings, entertainment and food from around the globe. Designed as a gathering place for fans and communities to connect, the all-ages event will feature interactive experiences, live programming and more than 30 food vendors serving international flavours.

General admission is completely free, but tickets must be secured online in advance, with premium experiences available for purchase. Whether you’re there for the matches, the vibes or the food, this festival promises a full day of soccer celebration in the heart of the 6ix.

Summer Music in the Garden

Date: June 21 throughout August
Location: Toronto Music Garden

Summer Music in the Garden is returning to Toronto’s waterfront for yet another season of free live performances at the Toronto Music Garden.

The beloved concert series will feature 20 intimate outdoor shows celebrating a wide range of musical traditions, stories and cultures from across Canada and beyond. 

Kicking off on June 21 with The Sovereignty of Song featuring Juno Award nominee Julie Lumsden, this year’s lineup also includes Afrocentric choral group The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Cuban ensemble Montuno Cubano, and many more. 

The Great Whisky Heist: A Mystery Scavenger Hunt

Date: June 21 throughout September
Location: The Distillery District
Admission: Free for children under 12, $40 for adults 

Put your detective skills to the test at The Great Whisky Heist, an interactive scavenger hunt set in Toronto’s historic Distillery District. Inspired by the Roaring Twenties, the experience challenges teams to uncover clues, solve puzzles and crack the case behind a stolen shipment of whisky in a story filled with deception, hidden profits and mystery.

Teams of two to six players will explore the district using a scavenger hunt app, submitting answers and partaking in creative photo challenges along the way. Get your thinking caps on, Toronto!
