If you’ve ever wanted to eat dinner while suspended 150 feet in the air, now is your chance. The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is bringing ‘Dinner in the Sky’ to Toronto, marking the first time such an experience will be available in Canada.
This gravity-defying, open-air culinary experience hoists guests high above the CNE Midway for a meal experience like no other.
Strapped into a floating “Chef’s Table” with just 21 other diners, guests will get front-row views as each course is freshly prepared and served midair by top chefs.
Expect 360-degree views of the fairgrounds, from sunset skies to neon-lit rides below.
The global dining attraction is already a hit in cities like Dubai, Tokyo, and Punta Cana. Now, it lands at Stanley Barracks (near Hotel X) for the duration of the CNE, running Aug.15 to Sept. 1
The concept might be new to the CNE, and to Canada, but it’s already won over foodies around the globe.
“Did this in Athens and it was 100% worth it!!” one user commented on Instagram.
“I’ve experienced dinner in the sky in Malaysia and Singapore—it’s wonderful,” another person added.
But not everyone’s on board with the idea.
“That sounds like a Final Destination moment waiting to happen,” one Instagram user joked.
Another chimed in, “Would you like a burger with an extra side of anxiety anyone?”
Still, others are welcoming the concept to Toronto with open arms.
“Toronto always complaining about lack of idea then complain when an idea comes lol… this is a regular restaurant in some parts of the world 💁🏽♂️fyi,” an Instagram user said. Multiple daily “flights” take off starting at 3 p.m., with options for sunset dinners and late-night cocktail service high above the city buzz.
Tickets start at $110 per person, which includes admission to the CNE but not ride passes.
This is one of several ‘Enhanced Experiences’ at this year’s Ex—so while it’s not included in general admission, it might just be the most memorable way to experience the CNE from above.
