A Mississauga café has officially shut down following an influx of complaints from multiple diners who claim they were scammed by the restaurant.
Farzi Café, located at Square One Shopping Centre, has been at the centre of several negative reviews, many accusing the eatery for allegedly overcharging for food by adding unauthorized gratuity and extra items to the bill.
According to a spokesperson from Square One, Farzi Café is no longer operating out of the shopping centre as of Monday. However, the spokesperson did not tell Now Toronto a reason as to what caused the restaurant’s closure.
Now Toronto first reported the story earlier this month, speaking to a woman who went viral for exposing the restaurant in a TikTok video.

The video, which has since amassed more than 600,000 views, detailed Harnoor Sahota’s experience while on a night out at the restaurant with a group of friends, where she says restaurant staff were constantly pushing drinks and appetizers on them that they did not want to order. By the end, her group of three received a $240 bill, containing inconsistent prices and added gratuity.
Sahota’s experience resonated with many online; her comments were soon flooded with others who shared similar stories of having issues with Farzi Café.
The restaurant has also garnered more than 7,500 Google reviews, many of which echo the same complaints of aggressive upselling and misleading business practices. The Mississauga location has also been under fire on other online platforms like TripAdvisor and Reddit.
Sahota joined multiple patrons in filing a report against the eatery with the customer complaint platform Better Business Bureau (BBB), where Farzi Café has already received more than 20 complaints and an F grading.
The restaurant denied the allegations in a June 4 Instagram post, calling the online claims “baseless” and adding that its legal team is “pursuing the matter to hold the individuals involved accountable for the damage caused.”
Now Toronto reached out to Farzi Café Mississauga for comment but has not yet received a response.
